What scientific data exists about biophotons?

Dr. Alexander Gurwitch, in the 1920s, discovered biophotons, referenced as "Mitogenetic Radiation" at the time, promoting cell regeneration.

Dr. Fritz Albert Popp proved the existence of this ultra-weak emission of light and named them biophotons since all detectable photons originated from living bodies in the 1970s. Dr. Popp used ultra-sensitive equipment to demonstrate biophotons (living light) that transmit information within and between our cells. He presented data to show that our human physiology may depend on this very living light (biophotons).

As later research confirmed, our bodily cells generate and emit biophotons and constantly release and absorb biophotons via the DNA and Mitochondria of our cells.
